In previous posts, we’ve mentioned how our favorite tension reliever is to log on to WoW and whack Horde. To do this task – we used our ‘lowbies’, a Druid and a Priest. Well, plans have changed just a bit.
We decided to level our main characters up to 70. Shelley just hit 65 with her rogue ‘Cyrcie’ and I am just shy of that mark myself with my warrior ‘Nashaar’. You see, when we had tried to level earlier with these same two we were constantly getting wasted. Our two heroes quickly fell out of favor with us and we played using ‘alts’ or alternate characters. That worked fine for a while until the lure of 70 hit us hard.
Now we are more determined than ever to hit that magic number. With each level gained, we find ourselves holding our own now against higher leveled players. What was once an easy kill for those players has become an increasingly difficult task. We finally feel like these characters are coming into their own – and playtime has become more enjoyable.
Once we hit 70 – we plan on parking them in the battle grounds to earn their gear. I’ll keep you updated on our progress.
Oh – congratulations to Cyrcie for hitting 65! 🙂

People are becoming more and more immune to traditional advertising as we become more and more bombarded with it in commercials, banner ads, etc. So when ads actually catch your attention and spark your curiosity, it’s pretty remarkable. I’m always looking around for just that type of thing.
So maybe you’ve heard of the movie, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” — but have you been following along with the ad campaign? Not only is there a BLOG (you’ve GOT to check it out — what a hoot!) but billboards are popping up everywhere with the BLOG address.

Reality marketing at its finest!

Fuzzy photos, the blinding glare of flash…it’s easy to recognize all the signs of a poor photo (my all-time favorite is the famous listing on eBay where you could see the naked photographer in the reflection of the mirror he was trying to sell. Funny stuff!) Not everyone appreciates the same photo techniques, but it’s still fun to dabble with different settings and subjects.
For example…macro photography…
Macro lenses are awesome, but most are extremely expensive (the one I want is a whopping $3900 bucks), but you can get extraordinary shots with just a standard 0.4m/1.3ft 35-80mm lens. Try it out! You might even surprise yourself when you pull YOUR photos off to the computer and take a gander. Get up close and personal and don’t sweat it — it’s really not that difficult. All you have to do is put some thought into it, and in certain cases — be able to bend like a pipe cleaner.

I’m not a fan of winter or the rain we’ve had of late — but what an awesome Tuesday! After every winter comes spring, and a near 70 degree temp in the burg had Perry and I in the yard snapping a few shots of its arrival. I don’t know about those of you playing along at home, but I’m impressed with Perry’s photo of the redbud tree blooming (especially knowing that his inheritance of my old Digital Rebel is the very first camera he’s ever owned!)
Pear trees were planted here around 10 years ago and are exceptionally beautiful when they bloom. These trees maintain a perfect shape no matter the size, and provide shade here in the side and back yards where their spots were carefully chosen. These blossoms look as good as about any flower and add to the much-missed smell of spring.

Libby has been requesting a trip outside more than usual too. Each time I find I’m over my head in work and concentrating, she starts the “I gotta go outside right NOW” prance. Come to find out, 50% of the time she only wants to sightsee. But who can blame her?

Last night, the Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Memphis Tigers in the NCAA Championship 75 – 68 in overtime. It was a thrilling end to an incredible tournament.
Congratulations to Kansas and coach Bill Self!
