Nancy. Nancy. Nancy. I love you, but please don’t give up your 8:00 PM EST HLN slot to write. The Eleventh Victim was a HUGE disappointment. Alisa — it’s all yours.
Half-way through the book, when I read, “He felt the rush of diarrhea and held it in only with a quick, powerful effort, his haunches tensed together,” I just about gave up reading the rest. I probably should of. It did get a bit better, but not much. I tried so hard to like this book, inspired by Nancy’s own beginnings as a prosecutor and the tragic death of her fiance, but it simply didn’t happen.
I do like the book cover, and I like the way the fonts are used at the beginning of each new chapter. The content? Nancy. Nancy. Nancy. One more thing — y’all know I love dogs. But the whole 8 wiener dog thing (trying not to spoil anything for those of you planning to read the book) was lost on me.

With one exception — Friday was a perfect day to end the week. It was sunny and warm in the burg and work was easy and light. Dinner at Red Lobster was yummy, as was the Malibu Hurricane, and I bought Nancy Grace’s book, The Eleventh Victim, which I plan to use for entertainment today as I relax by the pool. (To Alisa, nah nah ne boo boo!)

You either love or hate Nancy Grace. There’s nothing in between. Don’t believe me? Just try saying her name in an intimate gathering and take note of reactions. Either eyes will light up — or “b*tch” will be muttered. Seriously. Try it. Be ready for a debate to ensue.
Even though I mock her — the way she mouths the words “thank you” when she’s complimented on her twins, and her famous “what’s your question, dear?” when she wants her caller to get on with it already — I LOVE her feisty spunk and the way she puts everyone in their place.
To be honest, she reminds me of a friend. Those of you from the burg will know who I’m talking about when I say her attitude reminds me of Tammy — smart as all Hell and twice as opinionated.
Feel free to tell us what you think of Nancy Grace by clicking the ‘comments’ link at the top right of this post.
And, when you’re done, be sure to read a business BLOG post that has nothing to do with Nancy Grace and everything to do with Starbucks. Interesting stuff…

What about John Hughes passing away yesterday at age 59? Talking a walk one minute and dead the next. Did I mention he was only 59? Scary stuff. And very sad.
For those of you that don’t recognize the name — he’s best known for his 80’s movies. I personally remember him most for “Home Alone,” “National Lampoon’s Vacation,” “Planes, Trains & Automobiles” and “Uncle Buck.” So “The Breakfast Club” wasn’t my thing.
I read through some of the tributes online — and found out the coolest thing in what was said by Steve Martin. “The script for ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ was the best script I had ever read,” Martin said. “I asked John how long it took to write it, he said, ‘I wrote it over the weekend.’ The weekend. That shows you what he was able to do.”
My big accomplishment for the weekend will probably be stocking up on groceries. If I decide to write a script instead, I’ll let you know.

I always test new stuff before migrating options to client sites. This is only a test — do not try it at home. Ok, so I couldn’t find any great but short videos to use for this test, (a plugin which allows a quick video upload to be converted to flash and play in a skinned player with a simple click), even though I have one of those cute little video recorders that’s small enough to fit in my purse. So for those of you playing along at home, you can laugh at Perry.
It’s 47229 ya big dork!

Pretty busy around here so Libby has been trying to figure out ways to spend quality time with me. She figures if she reads all the stuff that I don’t have time to — she can then grab my attention by telling me the whole story, thus saving me time. So far it’s working.

The sun is shining today and I’m thinking of spending lunch today on the mower. No pity for me! I LOVE to be outside, even if it’s with my butt planted on a lawnmower. Hasn’t this summer been pathetic? Kids in the burg are back in school already and probably feel like they missed something.
