another data breach – ya can’t trust anyone…

Jul 30, 2019

The latest security breach in the news is that of Capital One. Data from more than 100 million US citizens (and 6 m Canadians) was stolen. That translates to about 140 k SS numbers and 80 k bank account numbers. News sources report if you applied for credit after 2005, you’re likely included in the breach. Not me on this one! Yippee!

I haven’t applied for anything with Capital One; however, the recent Equifax breach did get me. If you don’t know already, if you’re in the list of those hit by the hack you can get $125 through the settlement. Here’s the link to see if you’re one of the unlucky lucky ones: https://eligibility.equifaxbreachsettlement.com/en/eligibility

All the two-step authorization stuff is annoying as all Hell. Even worse is how your Google account is now married to your Chrome browser. Still, it is what it is, you guys.

And on a happier note to close…

double rainbow

Perry called to let me know there was a double rainbow, but by the time I got outside even the brighter one had all but disappeared. Had I been paying attention, I would’ve certainly pointed my phone a bit higher since only a small corner of rainbow #2 is visible in the one I took. 🙂
