I’m thankful for so very many things. For example, I’m thankful Perry is ok after clipping a police car in an accident this morning. I’m happy the officer is fine too. To be clear — that isn’t to say I wish it hadn’t have happened. Show of hands… how many of you have pit maneuvered a police car? Oh, NONE? How about that!
So here’s the story (in case I want to re-read it in about 10 years):
Perry’s heading home from work on State Road 7 — a 2-lane crappy road. Mr. Police flies up behind him and hits the lights. Right past a curve with no berm… no place to pull over… ole’ Perry slows down. He didn’t know what he did — but he thought he was being stopped. No place to pull off the road and Mr. Police hot on his tail, he turns on his left-turn signal to get to a safe spot in a parking lot on the left-hand side of the road.
Mr. Police was after the car in front of Perry, mashed the gas to pass as Perry was turning to go to the parking lot, and Perry sent him spinning.
A Thanksgiving to remember, for sure. With a puppy nipping on everything, trying to prepare a meal, and Perry calling for insurance info on the car — in addition to the simple build-up of daily puppy demands — I’m about to lose my mind. The brief second this photo was taken is the first calm moment in a week:
It’s now night and Thanksgiving is just a memory, but Merida is still contemplating the wonders of the holiday.
