There are lots of people who are camera shy. It isn’t uncommon even now — when photographs are a day-to-day activity. Sometimes it’s because a person doesn’t like the way they look. Other times it’s social anxiety or that they simply don’t want to be the center of attention. And some people — and dogs — just want to be a turd about having their photo taken.
Like Dharma… she is camera shy.
Let me pick up my phone — or heaven forbit my DSLR — and Dharma refuses to look up. It takes some miraculous trickery to get a shot of her face.
On the other hand, Merida is a showoff. Even negative attention is better than no attention at all, and she’s extremely camera confident.
Where do you fall on the camera shy vs. camera confident spectrum?
Not much has changed for me since I was a kid. The only difference is that the older I get, the less I care. I’ve never been one to cover my face or drop my head… but I was also never the “look at me” person either. That was my brother. Every. Single. Time. He would dance or even jump in front of the person having a photo taken. Whatever it took to be center stage — he did it. Not much has changed for him since he was a kid either. 😉
For the record… it was MY birthday.
