Fall is just around the corner and several of my Facebook friends are sharing photos of their homes decorated for the season. Me? I have one ceramic pumpkin that’s maybe 5″ in diameter and that’s it. That’s the total and complete extent of my fall decorations.
The closest thing I have to fall in my home is the lamp that hangs in the exercise room. I’m guessing that doesn’t even count but it’s the only thing that has some orange in it.
I love festive decor and have plenty of Christmas items (an attic full!), but autumn and Halloween have not gotten any attention around here. I have mums outside that are soon to bloom — but even they are pink — there’s no yellow or orange on the place.
Because of the pandemic, no one is visiting this year anyway so I guess I’ll roll into the future cooler temps without any festive fanfare. I’ll just troll the photos of everyone else’s homes to help get me geared up for the change of seasons in good ole’ Indiana.
TIL (Today I Learned): Geese are sometimes used instead of guard dogs. They have excellent eyesight, are very territorial, and can discern unusual people or sounds.
