At least for this week, life is feeling pretty darned normal. My business phone is ringing and I’m once again busy. Thoughts of taking early retirement are on the back burner for now but not totally removed from thought. An industry expert today predicted that meetings will be back to 2019 by 2023 or 2024. I guess we can ride the tide right out the back door by then. But who knows… Art Linkletter was onstage when he was over 95. I wonder how old his booking agent/event planner was. 😉
Weather here is also typical for fall — at midnight we’re at almost 60 degrees F and the trees and leaves are absolutely gorgeous. Even the tree in front of my house is especially pretty this year.
After my next to awful Disney customer experience — hours of phone calls and email messages — everything is finally lined out for our trip in about 2-weeks. Just Ben and Coco are coming with me since this time of year is blacked out for Perry to take any time off. Although I hate he can’t go and feel guilty… passing up an almost free trip is something I can’t make myself do.
By then, the leaves will all be on the ground anyway and temps will be dipping much lower. Ben has already checked the Orlando forecast and it only makes it harder for me to decide what I’ll wear. He expects us to be at the park at rope drop (chilly)… stay all day (warm with high 70’s) and leave when the park closes (low to mid 50’s). Shorts or jeans? T-shirts or sweatshirts? ARG! The only thing I know I’ll pack is great shoes.
TIL (Today I Learned): A hurricane hit Hawaii when Jurrasic Park was filming. The sets were destroyed and the cast and crew were stranded in a leaking hotel ballroom. Steven Spielberg played cards with the kids for hours and told them stories to distract them. Real footages of the hurricane were added to the film.
