norovirus is like the plague only worse

Mar 23, 2023

Rarely am I sick, so when Perry had the big norovirus I didn’t actually think I’d get it. But I did. And I’ve never, EVER, been so sick. At least that I can remember.

All bad symptoms are rolled into one.

12.5 solid hours of throwing up. Diarrhea like I’ve never had before… a touch of fever… and I felt like I had a rock in my stomach. I still do. This girl that NEVER has a headache had a headache. (Not sure if that was a symptom of the virus or because I couldn’t have my standard 50 cups of coffee.)

Crazy, but every muscle I have HURTS. Not like flu achy — but they hurt. I’ve been up a grand total of 40 minutes and simply feeding the dogs and letting them outside has me so worn out I’m going back to bed.

I’m hoping to garner enough strength to get a shower. I’ve had the same pj’s on for 2 days. 😏

Don’t get this, you guys. It’s truly awful.

TIL (Today I Learned): Symptoms of norovirus typically appear 12-24 hours after a person has been exposed to it. Studies indicate that the virus can be spread for up to two weeks after a person seemingly recovers from it. ~CDC
