When you get a pool, it’s not necessarily instant gratification. At least it hasn’t been for us. 🙁
The only way to get to the newly erected water holder was through the garage and around the house — or out the front gate and around the house. Neither option was great. It’s downhill on the way out, but once your wet feet are in slippery flips it’s uphill.
I found a more reasonable deck builder!
Tim finished chemo a few months back and is now cancer free. That doesn’t mean he’s 100%, but he is on the mend and looking for work. He doesn’t live far and we’ve been friends for years (and years). His price was over $5K less than the bid from Mr. Contractor #1. 😯
For the time being, we’ve got a doggie gate and stairs that aren’t so sturdy to get from the existing deck to ground level. It’s better than nothing! And it’s only temporary.

The water is cold(er) again.
We topped off the water level and the temperature dropped 5 degrees. With 90 degree days, it shouldn’t take long to get back up where it was… which was still miserably cold.
