it takes two to go solo

Aug 9, 2023

You ever had days where every single thing you started you couldn’t finish? Yesterday was that day for me.

Solo Stove Surround… help me!

When the new Solo Stove Surround came out it was on sale. I snatched it up! It sat in a box until yesterday when I moved it from the garage to the front deck — end over end the entire way. I think it weighed 500 pounds. I opened the box, took all the bubble wrap off of the bajillion pieces and then… I stopped.

Putting stuff together is over my pay grade. I can’t do anything like that and just looking at instructions makes my brain just shut off. Then I read the review on Forbes and I’m feeling guilty that the job is falling to Perry. To summarize the article: it’s great for those with large areas who have children and/or pets, but it’s a pain to put together.

It also says it “takes two people,” so I went out to help (or oversee) the process since the security camera alerts meant ole’ Perry was doing a whole lot of walking around. 🙂

He didn’t need me. He had a supervisor looking over his shoulder the entire time…

Bonfire weather is just about anytime — except when it’s windy, of course.

We use the Solo Stove year round and love it. I’d be afraid to guess how many hot dogs and marshmallows it’s roasted. Next purchase is the cover for it and NOTHING from Solo Stove is cheap.

Now you know: Heat Index (“feels-like” temperature) is only accurate for healthy and well-hydrated adults of average size and weight who are sitting in the shade with a breeze of 5 knots. **What?**
