It was not my intent to make this a political post, but Hugo has a mind of his own so it might just swing that way a tiny bit. You see, my TV watching dog HATES Kash Patel.
After reading on X that there was a shooter at the recent WHCD event, I turned on the TV and Hugo took up a spot on the couch. Every single time Kash Patel came into view, Hugo would growl.
Trump is ok, but Kash Patel is not.
Listen closely…
Did Jimmy Kimmel cross the line?
Kimmel performed a parody WHCD routine that earned harsh criticism from many, most notably the POTUS and FLOTUS. You can watch the full clip here. Kimmel referred to Melania Trump as having “a glow like an expectant widow.“
In light of the fact that 2 previous assassination attempts already occurred — no consideration to the one that happened a mere 2 days after the skit aired — I think it was pretty tasteless. So was his joke about the President’s balls compared to rotten tomatoes.
If it was meant as an “old person” joke against Trump, that too is pretty tasteless. Any person dying for any reason simply shouldn’t be fodder for a comedy routine.
So far, there’s only silence from ABC/Disney.
ABC/Disney fired Sage Steele for publicly saying she was against the mandatory COVID vaccine. No suspension for her — she was out the door. And don’t forget, Kimmel has already been suspended once over remarks related to Charlie Kirk.
Personally, I don’t think Kimmel should be fired over what he said — we live in the US where there’s freedom of the press, after all — but I don’t think ABC/Disney should ignore it and give him a pass either.
What do you think ABC/Disney should do (or not do)?
Polymarket traders currently see Kimmel leaving the network (by being fired or by profering his resignation) as very unlikely to happen by the end of May — a “yes” vote is 9¢ while a “no” vote will cost you 92¢.
Now you know: During the 1902 Hanoi Rat Massacre, the French government paid a bounty for rat tails, but instead of reducing the population, residents began breeding rats to cut off their tails for profit.
