Today is my birthday. Unlike my brother — who wants to make a big deal celebration on every single birthday no matter how big the digits are — I prefer to ignore mine. Understand… I don’t want to die, but I don’t want to celebrate either. 🙂
What 67 years-old looks like:

Colored hair, glasses so I can see, and partial plates so I can eat — I’m grateful for all those things because they help me to navigate this senior living road trip. And I’m also thankful. Thankful for the years I’ve had to date and hopeful for many more to come.
What old as dirt feels like…
Aside from a few normal old people aches and pains, I feel GREAT. I have family, friends, and dogs who love me no matter how old I get. I’m not thinking about nor talking about pooping as so many older adults do.
My first text of the day came at 7:05 AM with the second following closely thereafter. Both were from cousins. Marilyn Manson sang to me (Alisa), proving that your best friends know not to connect before 9:00 AM. My favorite brother sent me a gift card that I applied to a senior recumbent exercise bike. The Pesky neighbors have a gift for me, but our schedules so far today haven’t aligned. I haven’t been on Facebook yet because the act of thanking all the well-wishers will take hours.
I’ll be dining on Mexican tonight from El Nopal and life is so very good. Here’s hoping your day — and mine — is filled with lots of joy and maybe a little extra luck! 🥳🍀
Now you know: Kurt Russell (1951) and Rob Lowe (1964) both share my birthday. Forrest Gump’s Lt. Dan was also born on March 17th (1955).
