You’re supposed to expect heat in Indiana in August — and I did expect it. I also expected to only need to mow once every couple weeks by now too… but that hasn’t happened.
What I didn’t expect is that my breakfast spot would be too hot to enjoy.

I guess I just need to get up earlier.
But that would mean going to bed earlier too.
And I’m a night owl! There’s something wonderfully peaceful about staying up late when the rest of the house is quiet. No dogs staring at me because they suddenly need something, dinner has been consumed and dishes done, dogs have been fed and have been outside a bajillion times, and there’s no unexpected noises coming from another room.
Every living thing is sleeping. There’s just me. And it’s amazing.
I’m not giving up those blissful nights since September is right around the corner. There will be plenty of mornings I can have breakfast outside. I just need to be patient.
Now you know: Cows have “Eureka moments,” getting excited after solving a problem. 1 group of cows was taught to press a panel to enter a room with food, while a second just entered the room after a time delay. The panel-pressing cows were significantly more excited to enter the room than the second group.
