My favorite brother sent me a meme and I thought it was funny. I then sent it to my friend, Alisa.

That inspired a message conversation about MRIs.
Alisa’s never had an MRI and thinks she would freak out. I’ve had a few and admit I struggle with the enclosed space.
The last one I had, I forgot to remove my thumb ring. My digit bounced up and down so hard I could image it exploding inside the tube. “Just something else to worry about that will never happen,” is what I kept telling myself. I didn’t listen.
One small difference that meant a whole lot!
If you don’t get anxious while lying down inside of a tube, this will mean nothing to you…
I had an MRI at Seymour Hospital. They put me in the tube head first. I was put into the MRI machine feet first for the one I had at OrthoIndy.
- Head in first means it takes a LOT longer for your brain to get “free” from the enclosed space.
- Feet in first means your head is out first and your brain is emitting a huge sigh of relief while your feet have no clue they’re still in there.
Sadly, my gift arrived much too late.

What a great gift I received from a good friend. She was in Napa and thought of me. It’s just too bad I didn’t have this BEFORE my last MRI. Wondering if I should keep it unopened just in case. 😉
Now you know: Beethoven kept his hearing loss a secret. He once wrote (but never sent) a letter to his brother confessing it and explained that people mistakenly thought he was antisocial: he longed for human contact but became a recluse out of shame for his condition and all this made him contemplate suicide.
