As I picked up a raspberry piece of sweet goodness this morning I had a crazy train of thought… We get these packages of pound cake slices that have three different kinds inside — raspberry, lemon and cinnamon. Everyone loves them in that order and the cinnamon ones are always left for last. Here’s the thing, I NEVER eat the raspberry even though it’s my favorite. I want to leave it for someone else.
Now Perry… he’ll pick up three of those raspberry ones and never give it a thought. Ben is middle of the road. He’ll take a raspberry and a lemon. Me? I’ll eat the least favorite cinnamon one every single time. Same thing happens with regular old meals. Take burgers for example… I’ll only put condiments on what I know I’ll eat. Perry slathers his garbage on two no matter if he ate 10-minutes ago. What’s up with that?
Mom told us about the starving kids in China (seriously… she said that) and ‘waste not want not’ was also a favorite. But it’s not even that because I’d leave that raspberry goodie in the container to mold before eating it. Until today. I ate the last one and enjoyed it! Then I felt guilty because my kid showed up and had to eat lemon. 🙁
The hounds couldn’t believe I did it either. They would’ve eaten it, I’ll betcha!
So what about you? Do you take the favorite or the last one of something? If you do… do you ever feel guilty about it?
TIL (Today I Learned): Decaf Coffee was accidentally discovered when a train car got soaked with sea water which removed the caffeine. (You can have all of that stuff.)
Obsessed with technology for the home, we have lightbulbs that are controlled by a phone app. Home technology also allows us to connect those bulbs to other home technology so they’re voice activated and set on timers. One light in the living room (that I’ve not been in since Christmas 2-years ago except to clean) changed to red directly after I verbalized my plan to list the house in a week or so.
I’ve mentioned lots of times that this house belonged to my great uncle, Ted, prior to his death. Since I’ve NEVER programmed any of the lights to be red, it must be a sign Teddy is mad and doesn’t want me to sell his home. Either that or it’s a warning to Merida that if she keeps smooshing the couch cushion to see outside something bad will happen. Either way, Teddy has been whispering his mood and it’s 100% certain neither Merida nor I will heed the warning. 😉
Insofar as news you already know — the body found at the Carlton Reserve was confirmed to be that of Brian Laundrie. Moving on, I still want to know how and when he died. The parent’s lawyer said in a media interview that he was told by his client that Brian “was grieving” when he went for that hike. Grieving what? The parents knew what happened all along (in my opinion) and took their lawyer’s advice to remain silent.
It was (and is) certainly their right to remain silent — and people need to respect that. You can’t expect freedom of speech or expression, or the right to bear arms, while neglecting other constitutional rights. HOWEVER… now they are asking for privacy to grieve the loss of their son. Understandable, but a pretty big ask in my opinion. They kept silent and showed no compassion or sympathy for the Petito family when Gabby was reported missing. Now they’re asking for the same?
And finally, even if you have no real interest in justice for Gabby, you might like to know that if you die outside in Florida and your body is exposed to elements for 5 weeks, your corpse will be skeletonized. I had no idea.
My day went downhill from the moment my feet hit the floor this morning. Bet y’all can relate. We all have days where we feel like all we do is run as fast as we can but get nowhere. Mine started with a 6:30 AM text from a client about a 11:45 AM event. It was outlining changes they were required to make. Note this is 3:30 AM my brother’s time so it’s not like I can reach him to dump it.
Next, Merida decided to bring in a huge clod of grass after her early morning pee break. Where did it come from? Who knows! Where it ended up was a chewed up mess on the carpet. Yay! After picking up and sweeping up and scrubbing up (grass stain), I looked in the mirror to see my late-night haircut could’ve been a bit better, so…
And then, I check email to find a request from a client that’s booked a 1-hour virtual event wanting to schedule 2, 1-hour calls to discuss. In almost 20-years of doing this, I’ve never had a request for 2-hours worth of pre-event calls. Apple did their 3-hour live event pre-call in 20 minutes. So… I’m typing this before responding hoping to bring my BP down a notch.
And finally, a cadaver dog has been called to the Carlton Reserve in the search for Brian Laundrie. I want DOG TBH to find the dude alive. Hoping he’s not found dead but not wanting to miss it if they do, I have so many feeds up on Twitter I can’t get them all in without scrolling — on a 27″ monitor.
AND… I have the live video rocking from Eagle 8 of the current ground search for Brian Laundrie on another monitor while Dharma is grunting to go back outside for the 100th time.
Yes, some days are a sh*t show… and it’s barely noon here. Can’t wait to see what shakes out from here. 🙂
Laundrie family attorney (parents of Brian – person of interest), Mr. Bertolino texted, “Gabby Petito’s death at such a young age is a tragedy.” This dude right here needs someone else to prepare his statements. Like… Gabby was strangled/throttled — at what age would Mr. Bertolino consider that act NOT a tragedy?
He also said, “At this time Brian is still missing…” NO. Brian Laundrie is NOT missing — he’s hiding. There’s a difference. Bertolino’s text came directly after the Teton County Coroner’s press conference regarding Gabby’s autopsy. Gabby’s mom had a reply immediately, “His words are garbage. Keep talking.“
If you’re following the case, you don’t need me to recap any updates — and if you’re not, you wouldn’t care anyway. If you’re the latter, skip the rest of this because it’s nothing but links I’ve found that either provide the best information, or are simply interesting:
Gabby Petito on Reddit — here you’ll find sub reddits full of comments, verified attorney insights, timelines, scanner traffic updates, search details, and way too much more to mention. You have to join reddit to read comments.
Nomadic Statik – the youtube channel of Brian and Gabby – Gabby’s parents were hoping to get 1m subscribers because that was her dream.
Twitter:
Brian Entin is camped out wherever the action is and does livestreams often. He’s a part of News Nation at 5:00 PM ET, 9:00 PM ET, and on Banfield at 10:00 PM ET. You can find this channel on YouTube TV, Hulu and others.
WFLA (News Channel 8 – NBC) starts a livestream every time something newsworthy happens regarding the case.
@WFLAJosh and @WFLAJB are two to follow. (WFLA and News Nation are owned by the same parent company – Nexstar Media Group.) #Eagle8HD is their helicopter and @8_plamison is the flight photographer. Lots of video during searches.
For controversial details (like how the attorney and Laundrie family are connected, business entities they are involved in separately and together, even digging into PPP loans), read his tweets but don’t tick @Nerdy_Addict off.
I also follow #gabbypetito and #justiceforgabby but only once in awhile you’ll find anything substantial there.
So there you have it kids, a sure fire way to time-sink your day away. 🙂
In today’s press conference, the coroner said he thought so many were following the case because Brian and Gabby were youtubers. I don’t necessarily agree. I know I could care less about that. I think it’s like the Casey Anthony or Scott Peterson cases… those in question were bat shit crazy — and the “good guys” were relatable and… well… good. If you’ve read this far you’re interested too. What drew you in?
As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been following the Gabby Petito homicide and search for person of interest, Brian Laundrie. But active searches are no longer going on at the Carlson Reserve and it’s back open, Dog TBH is in Colorado to receive treatment for an injury he sustained during his search, and people haven’t heard a peep from the FBI since the beginning.
For a time, there were a bajillion potential sightings of Brian Laundrie. But all skinny, bald guys don’t look like him! Case in point…
The only new thing that’s happened lately is the Laundrie’s neighbors put a sign in their yard facing the house. It was a big photo of Gabby with words that said, “Remember me? I lived with you!” Earlier today, protestors lined the road in front of their home with laundry baskets. At near midnight, Chris and Roberta Laundrie came outside, picked up the laundry baskets and removed the sign with Gabby’s photo. Of course, there was media camped out to record their actions and the Internet is again enraged. But for how long?
Once the media is gone the protestors will leave. The media will soon (in my opinion) move on to the next big thang unless there’s some movement in the case. Sad that a 23 year-old can hide when the world is watching.
TIL (Today I Learned): Donald Eugene Webb holds the record for the longest stay on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. He was on that list from 1981 to 2007 and was never apprehended. In 2017 his fate was revealed! His wife sheltered him in a hidden room until his death in 1999 (18 years!) — and then buried his remains in the backyard as per his request.
