runnin on empty

Aug 17, 2009

As promised, I’ve altered my routine …somewhat. (Rome wasn’t built in a day and all that stuff.) I DID get up earlier. Libby and I had a walk before the work-day started at 9:00 AM, and I actually had lunch at the table instead of at my computer. See? I’m making progress!

And here’s the best part. I’m quitting work at 6:00 PM no matter what. I have plans…

I have plans

I still feel like I’m runnin’ on empty, but I figure it’s only going to get better. Go me — I’ve even made lots of hay already today.

One more thing — just for the record. I’m tossing aside thoughts of marrying some Afghan. Where is this coming from? I read a New York Times article today about the Shiite Personal Status Law that was put into effect at the end of July. It gives Shiite men in Afghanistan the legal right to starve their wives if their sexual demands are not met. And get this… Shiite women must obtain permission from their husbands to even leave their houses, “except in extreme circumstances.” Like I would go along with that! Bah! (Check out the videos too. Woah!)
