fresh memories: a vintage wedding reception

Mar 9, 2026

I took a few days off from posting so I didn’t talk about Iran or Trump or Nancy Guthrie. Instead, I circled back here to share a photo from a wedding reception that took place decades ago. I guess you’d say by now it’s “vintage.” 🥳

The photo above is of my good friend, Julie, singing at Jerilyn & Tader’s wedding reception. The bonus is she’s standing by my Dad. I see uncle Max and Silver (no clue if that’s his first or last name). Dave Haines typically played steel guitar but that doesn’t look like him — and Pete Zimmerman played harmonica and I don’t see him either.

The drummer could be anyone. Maybe it was me. 😉

Hello, 1980’s!

Jerilyn & Tader were married in 1985. For those of you playing along at home, they have now been married 41 years. Sang just like the Flintstones… happy anniversary, happy anniversary, happy anniversary, HAAAAAPY anniversary!

Now you know: In 2023 Disney made more profit from churros sales at its theme parks than it did for Disney+ streaming.
